Quiet Sparks
Story Together

A young boy with curly blond hair wearing a blue polo shirt, sitting at a table with a laptop that has a ghost drawing on it. He is wearing white headphones and appears focused. The background shows a bookshelf filled with colorful books.

A collaborative storytelling experience.

A gentle, ongoing story created together through weekly exchanges. Your child and I take turns writing small parts of a story, building confidence and creativity over time.

For children and teens who enjoy writing but may need a little encouragement to keep going.

Quiet Sparks Story Together is a calm, low-pressure way for your child to grow their imagination and confidence – without lessons, deadlines, or live sessions.

What’s Included

Your child and I create a story together, one small piece at a time, through email.

They can choose:

  • the genre (fantasy, mystery, real life, etc.)

  • the tone (funny, magical, adventurous, etc.)

  • and even who writes the first part

From there, we take turns adding to the story.

Each time I respond, I will:

  • continue the story with a short, carefully paced addition (around 250 words)

  • include gentle encouragement

  • offer a few light prompts or questions to help them keep going

There is no pressure to be ‘perfect’ – just space to create, explore, and enjoy storytelling.

A young girl with braided hair is sitting at a desk, placing her finger on her ear as she wears white and orange headphones. She holds a sketchbook with a blue drawing on the cover. There is a red colored pencil on the table. The background features a blue wall, a lamp, and potted plants.

How It Works

  • Once booked, I will send you a short questionnaire to gather info on genre, tone, start, etc.

  • One child story section submission per week (by Sunday 6pm, UK time)

  • A parent or guardian submits the child’s writing via the submission portal in Word format.

  • I add my section to the Word document and send this back to the parent/guardian email within 2 days

  • My contribution is intentionally short to leave space for your child’s ideas

  • The story unfolds gradually, at a pace that feels manageable and enjoyable.

  • Your child will always wrap up the story, and their final submission will be returned along with a short encouraging feedback piece and certificate of completion.

  • You can even add an optional extra and choose to receive a beautifully formatted and lightly edited PDF of
    your child’s completed story.

Submission Schedules

Kerry Start

A table with four columns labeled Week 1 through Week 4, showing a schedule for Kerry and a child. Kerry begins storytime on Monday of Week 1, and the child submits a story by Sunday or before each week. Return deadlines for Kerry are Tuesday.

Child Start

A weekly schedule grid with columns labeled Week 1 through Week 4 and rows for Kerry and Child. Kerry's row indicates return deadlines on Tuesday by 6pm for Weeks 2, 3, and 4. The Child's row notes story submission deadlines by Sunday or before in Weeks 1 through 4.

Feedback for your child’s completed story will be emailed to you within one week. If choosing to have the story lightly edited and formatted as an optional add-on, the story will be returned within two weeks.

This is especially suited to:

✏️ quiet, shy, or sensitive children

✏️ anxious or perfectionist writers

✏️ neurodivergent young people

✏️ children or teens who enjoy writing but struggle to continue or finish

It is also a lovely fit for any child who simply wants a more personal, creative experience.

Tone and Approach

This is not a lesson or critique.
It is a gentle, creative partnership, designed to:

build confidence
reduce pressure
spark ideas
help your child experience the joy of storytelling

This is a collaborative experience rather than a structured mentoring programme.

Feedback is always kept clear, gentle, and manageable so young writers feel encouraged rather than overwhelmed.
