Quiet Sparks
Creative Support

Sometimes all a story needs is a way forward.

For many young writers, the hardest part isn’t imagination – it’s knowing how to begin, continue, or trust what they’ve started.

These gentle, one-off, email-based supports help ideas grow, stories move forward, and confidence build over time.

Not every child needs a full programme – often a quiet, thoughtful nudge can make all the difference.

How It Works

A teen girl with long brown hair, green eyes, and a striped blue and white shirt sitting at a desk with a silver laptop, smiling, giving a thumbs-up gesture, with doodles of musical notes, a jellyfish, and a star around her.

Choose the type of support that best fits where your child is in their writing journey:

Story Shaping – Gentle help turning an idea into something they can begin writing, with encouragement, possible directions, and questions to spark imagination.

Unstuck Stories – Support for when writing has paused, offering calm reassurance, possible ways forward, and light prompts to help restart momentum.

Story Beginnings – Thoughtful feedback on the opening of a story, focusing on what’s working well and gentle suggestions to strengthen flow and confidence.

Once booked:

  • A parent or guardian submits the child’s writing (or story idea where relevant) via the submission portal in Word format.

  • I send my feedback to the parent/guardian’s email with personalised guidance and feedback within 7 working days.

A gentle reminder: this service is for personal writing support and is not intended for school-assessed work, where teachers need to assess independent skills.

Tone and Approach

These supports focus on different stages of the writing process – from shaping an idea, to moving a story forward, to strengthening its beginning – always with calm, gentle guidance tailored to where your child is right now.

For your child this means:

each response is calm, gentle, and designed to reduce pressure, not
add to it

support is focused on one specific stage of the writing process: ideas, progress, or beginnings

feedback is clear and manageable, helping young writers feel confident
in small, achievable steps

always encourages creativity while offering just enough structure to move a story forward

tailored to the child’s current idea or piece of writing, rather than a fixed level or standard
