Our full editorial service includes developmental editing and line and copy editing, with both of us involved throughout.
We don't simply read your manuscript separately and hand you two independent sets of feedback.
We read it, talk about it, pick holes in each other’s thinking, and work out what it actually needs before the substantial editing begins. Then we each take the lead on the stage that plays to our strengths.

‍💫 ‍Initial Read: We both read your manuscript and make our own notes, looking at what’s working, where there may be opportunities for improvement, and what the manuscript may need from us.
‍💫 Joint Assessment and Strategy Meeting: Before editing begins, we compare our observations and agree on the priorities, approach and editorial strategy for your manuscript.
‍💫 Ongoing collaboration: We communicate throughout the editing process, sharing thoughts and bringing a second perspective to anything that needs further discussion.
‍💫 Developmental edit: Your manuscript receives a full developmental edit, focusing on the bigger picture – including structure, pacing, character, narrative, consistency, voice, and whatever else your particular book needs.
‍💫 Author revision stage: You'll have time to consider and implement the developmental feedback before the manuscript moves into the next stage.
‍💫 Line and copy edit: Once the developmental revisions are in place, the manuscript receives detailed attention at sentence level. This can include clarity, flow, voice, consistency, grammar, punctuation, and style.
‍💫 Final Editorial Review: Once the line and copy edit is complete, we come together again to discuss the manuscript, review what has emerged through the process, and make sure the different layers of editing work together as a whole.
‍💫 One point of contact: You won't have to coordinate two separate editors, manage two sets of feedback or work out who to ask about what. From your perspective, we're one team.

How much does it cost?
Because no two manuscripts are the same, we provide a bespoke quote based on your manuscript and the level of editorial work it needs.
Our prices vary within each word-count band depending on the level of line and copy editing your manuscript requires. We'll determine this from your sample assessment and provide one fixed quote for the complete service.

30,001 - 60,000 - £2400 - 2670
60,001 - 90,000 - £2680 - 3010
Over 90,000: +£35 per additional 1k

Your quote covers the complete editorial process, including the collaborative work that happens between the two of us.

How does it work?

We’ll assess your sample and get back to you with a quote and our availability.
If you’re happy to move forward, we’ll get an invoice and contract over to you, and get you booked in.
