Beta Reading

Need honest feedback from a reader?
This is a reader-focused reaction to your manuscript, providing feedback on how your story resonates with readers. I’ll tell you what’s engaging, what dragged, where I got confused, and whether I was rooting for your main character.

Please Note: Beta reading is usually done after a manuscript is complete and has gone through at least one round of self-edits. It is not intended for early or rough drafts.

Why? Because a beta read is like handing your book to a future reader. It’s all about the reader experience, and things like pacing, character development, plot flow, and whether the reader stayed up late reading (or fell asleep mid-chapter). If the draft’s still in its early stages, that kind of feedback just won’t land right – because those pieces may not be fully formed yet.

Make sure your manuscript is in a polished enough state for this kind of feedback to be valuable!

What It Is
Basically, it’s the reader test. It’s all about the feeling and the vibes, a trial run with fresh eyes to see how your story lands. I’ll tell you what’s working, what’s confusing, and cover pacing, characters, plot, flow, and emotional punch. It’s not about grammar or typos, it’s about the experience.

What You Get
A feedback report covering opening hook, story engagement, pacing, characters, and emotional impact.
Focus on whether the story is enjoyable from start to finish and whether it will keep readers turning those pages.
Notes on what I loved (and what made my brain itch a bit).
Light editorial insight, but not a substitute for a full edit.
All my beta reads include a FREE sample combination line/copyedit on the first chapter.
